Pouring out KastEZ Resin.

Combine KastEZ resin with metal powder.

You will need polyurethane resin and fine metal powder. Here we use KastEZ Resin from ArtMolds. The mix ratio is one-third (Part A) resin + one-third (Part B) resin + one-third (metal powder).

Add about half of the metal powder to each part of the resin mixture.

The combination should be thoroughly mixed before pouring or brushing into your mold.

How to Create a Cold Casting Mix:

• “Cold-Casting”: This process involves mixing metal powder with resin for castings that mimic solid metals.
• The cold-cast method is quicker & more affordable than molten metal casting techniques like lost wax processes.
• Metal powders used may include strong bronze , brass , iron , copper & aluminum depending on desired results.
• Required materials include:

  • & Fine Metal Powder
  • < M old – preferably silicone.

Creating Your Cold Casting:

A quality cold casting requires mixing one third by weight of fine metallic powders into two-thirds two-part polyurethane resins until creamy consistency achieved before pouring it into molds until cured fully!

The initial demolded appearance may appear dull; thus proper burnishing required afterwards brings forth shiny finishes!

If you want realistic effects try using mineral spirits together with medium/fine steel wool followed by buffing using shoe polish providing depth after drying up ! Finally protect it from oxidation through acrylic spray coats applied twice over semi-gloss finish !
