Then, take sections about 1/2 inch wide and start applying the color about 1/2 inch away from your scalp, all the way down the hair shaft. Once all 4 sections are done, let it process for 15 minutes. After that, apply the rest of the color to your scalp area and let it sit for another 30 minutes. If you’re aiming for gray coverage, you’ll want to process for a total of 45 minutes.
