This oil is indigenous in Eastern Africa and it has a very rich history. They have been found in Egyptian tombs dating back to 4000BC. The slow-burning oil was also mostly used to fuel lamps. Primarily used by midwives to induce labor in pregnant women, it later on made its way as a skin and hair care product. Cleopatra is said to use the oil to brighten the whites of her eyes.
