• About Elleh

  Everyone carries something beautiful within. – Everyone! My mind is fluid and ever flowing with ideas, creative inspirations, ART. It was from the time I was very very small. It was so natural for me to create but it took decades, before I understood. – For me, I was born to create art and design. So often artists are dismissed and discouraged from practicing their work, including me. It was so natural for me to create, it was just something I could do. When you grow up on a family farm, there are far more pressing things that have to be done. Art was an extra – “if there was time.” Compared to farm life there was no value in it; that is what I was taught, “but” there WAS. It took a long journey before I realized where my abilities lie and the importance of art in life. Years ago before I understood, another artist I meet on my journey; told me, ” it takes decades before an artists’ work reaches its value, because an artist has to live life, and experience great pain before they achieve their best work.” Years ago, it was just a conversation. But now I understand what she was saying. The pain and agony an artist experiences in their own life is what brings emotion into our art work. As an artist we have to experience great emotions often times; like many, great pain. And then we must learn how to pull that experience and emotion out of our souls and put it in a piece of work. For artwork is more than paint splattered on a canvas. Many can do that. But, if you pause and look at the great masters. Their work emits emotions; life, both joy and sorrow. Great art pulls you to another place. It causes you to pause and reflect. But, before that piece can draw you in and let you drift from the place you are in, before it can transform and touch your soul. It must carry a depth of emotion that stands on its own. Like most people it takes living thru great emotions and pain before we artists can draw that from our own souls and leave it to touch another, in ways we can never imagine. My hope for each person my art touches, is that you find your gift, you find your path and for a moment on your journey you find peace, and life, and joy, and laughter in something I or another artist has created. My hope is that it touches your soul and makes you smile.
