The story behind Lowen’s Lip Balms can be found in a failed experiment. In the early days, when trying to create a natural, effective and locally sourced diaper balm for our daughter Lowen, I accidentally came up with this lip balm formula. After numerous failed formulations, I finally created an amazing diaper balm! However, it didn’t do a great job repelling water when my wife applied it to her hand. Instead of protecting against moisture—a key requirement for baby care—it actually “took on” water.

Later that night after a late feeding with Lowen, my wife had chapped lips and repurposed my failed formula that was sitting by the change table as lip balm sence she didn’t want to search for “lip chap” in the dark.
